Three people, including a father and son, have been killed in a firing by unidentified miscreants at Bilaichhari in Rangamati.
The incident took place at Saijampara of Ward No. 2 of Barathali Union bordering Bilaichhari Upazila on Tuesday evening.
The deceased were identified as Bishchandra Tripura and his son Subhas Tripura and Dhanra Tripura.
Local Union Parishad Chairman Atomang Marma was quoted by Newsbangla24.com.
He said, ‘There are three families of Tripura community in this remote neighborhood. The Cooki Chin Party attacked them on Tuesday evening. Three people were shot dead.
"I have heard about the casualties. It is unknown at this time whether the news is true or false. The area is remote. It's hard to get there. However, investigation is underway,” said Rangamati Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime) Mahmuda Begum.
