COVID-19: Bangladesh logs 8 more deaths, 759 new cases

In a 24 hour count till Saturday morning, health authorities in Bangladesh reported 8 more fatalities and 759 fresh infections. 

The latest government data reveals that the downward trend in Covid-19 cases as Saturday's Covid-19 figures are the lowest reported in nearly eight weeks. 

With the latest development, the death toll from the disease rose to 29,024, while the overall caseload of infections has reached 1,941,816. 

In the last 24 hours, as many as 18,305 samples were tested across the country, for a daily positivity rate of 4.15 percent.

Among the eight divisions, the capital Dhaka recorded the highest number of cases, with 526 infections.

Meanwhile, another 7,343 people recovered from the illness nationwide, bringing the total number of recoveries to 1,800,426.

The figures were reported between Friday 8:00 am and Saturday 8:00 am. 

 

The latest Covid-19 situation in the country was revealed by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) in its routine daily statement on Saturday evening.
