Bangladesh’s GDP likely to increase more than it was forecasted

The wheel of Bangladesh’s economy continued moving while the economy of the entire world was shattered by the pandemic.

As a result, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) says, the Gross Development Product (GDP) will raise this year.

The visiting IMP delegation in Dhaka said this during a press conference held in the capital on Sunday (December 19).

“The GDP growth will increase this year for Bangladesh than it was anticipated,” the delegation leader Rahul Ananda said.

He thinks the country will experience an upward trend in the GDP growth due to the increase of export and financial activities.

Rahul anticipates, the country is likely to witness 6.6 per cent GDP this year which was 6.5 per cent in previous year.

However, he further mentioned several challenges due to the wave of new coronavirus variant omicron.
