Belarus' foreign minister, Vladimir Makei has died suddenly, at the age of 64.
Authorities did not name the cause of death and they said Mr Makei was not known to suffer from any chronic illness.
Makei served as an aide to President Alexander Lukashenko and the president's chief of staff.
Lukashenko showed his condolences to Makei's family.
Makei was scheduled to meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Minsk on Monday.
Maria Zakharova, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman said they are shocked by reports of Makei's death.
