The China-led Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) would grant $4.5 billion to Bangladesh over the next five years, said a press release issued by the finance ministry.
According to the ministry, the funds will be used for climate-related projects as well as other sectors in the country.
A Bangladeshi team delivered the information following the AIIB`s annual general meeting, which ended today in Egypt. Meanwhile, Bangladesh has urged the AIIB to relax the loan terms.
The AIIB has so far provided a total of $3.27 billion in loans to Bangladesh for 18 projects.
