Central Executive Committee of WFBB formed

The Central Executive Committee of the World Federation of Bangladeshi Buddhists, an international organization of Buddhists, has been formed.

 

The committee is eyeing to build a bridge of the unity of expatriate Buddhists, and to protect the language, culture religious heritages, says a press note. 

 

On April 9, 2022, through the International Virtual Conference of the World Federation of Bangladeshi Buddhists (WFBB), a 91-member Central Executive Council was formed with Dr. Basumitra Barua, a distinguished scientist from Arizona, the USA as president and eminent organizer engineer Suhas Barua, who lives in Boston, as the secretary-general.

 

The members have been elected for a period of four years to various posts of the committee through the proposal of the members present and the support of the maximum members. 

 

Dr. Basumitra Barua, the convener of the organization, presided over the introduction meeting of the members at the beginning of the election. 

 

At the outset, Arun Jyoti Barua of Geneva, who read the threads from the holy Tripitaka, conducted the nearly five-hour-long election program jointly conducted by Member Secretary Suhas Barua from the United States and Joint Member Secretary Tapas Barua Ripon from France.

 

The 91-member newly elected committee published a list of leaders elected from different countries of the five continents for various positions.

The international organization called 'World Federation of Bangladeshi Buddists' was formed with the great aim of ensuring that these Buddhists of Bangladesh, who have thousands of years of talented contribution  and glory in Bangladesh, do not go to different countries and lose their thousand years of culture, heritages, religion and do not become isolated from kinship,  social relations, the leaders of the organization said.  

 

At present, the organization represents Bangladeshi Buddhists living in about 35 countries on five continents of the world.
