Covid-19: Infection rate at it‍‍`s lowest since March 14

Bangladesh has registered 60 new fatalities from the coronavirus in a day, taking the death toll to 11,510.

In the last 24-hours, the country has registered 1,452 new cases, the lowest daily tally since Mar 14, to 760,584, according to data released by the government.

Another 3,245 people recovered from the illness through treatment at home and in-hospital care, bringing the tally of recoveries to 684,671.

As many as 15,117 samples were tested across the country in the last 24 hours, yielding a positivity rate of 9.61 percent.

The latest official figures put the recovery rate at 90.02 percent, while the mortality rate stands at 1.51 percent.

Among the 60 deceased, 37 were men and 23 were women. Of them, one was between 11- 20, three were within 21-30 years old; two were within 31-40; seven were between 41-50; 10 between 51-60; and 37 were above 60 years old, added the release.
