Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) have arrested nine people in connection with Monday's girder collapse in Uttara that killed five people, The Daily Star.
Two others were also injured in that incident after a segment of a box girder of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project fell from a crane on a moving private car.
Crane operator, helper, and security personnel of the contractor company engaged for security in the project are among the arrestees, said Khandaker Al Moin, Rab's Legal and Media wing director.
They were arrested from various parts of Dhaka, Gazipur, Sirajganj, and Bagerhat, the Rab official added.
