CSTU VC pays tribute to Bangabandhu on Independence Day

Chandpur University of Science and Technology (CSTU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Nasim Akhtar paid floral homage to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing wreaths at his mural on the occasion of golden jubilee of independence at Gazipur on March 26.

50 years of ‍‍`Concert for Bangladesh‍‍`

After showing his deep respect to the Father of the Nation, Dr. Nasim said that on March 7, 1971 Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman delivered a historic speech in front of the confluence of more than one million people which led the Bengali nation to dream of freedom and fight for Bangladesh‍‍`s independence and democracy.

The momentous speech of March 7 is recognized as a charter of the liberation of Bengali nation. At his call in that speech, every house was turned into forts to defend the Pakistani forces.

Professor Nasim further said that the brave Bengalis took part in the war of liberation under the direction of Bangabandhu. As a result, final victory was achieved on 16 December, 1971.
