Dhaka, Rangamati red-marked as Covid hotspot

The health department has enlisted Dhaka and Rangamati district as high risk zone for coronavirus infection. 

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) also marked 54 district as less risk zone.

The DGHS disclosed the information analyzing data of last week.

According to the information, the infection rate in capital Dhaka now stands at 12.90 per cent while in Rangamati the rate is 10 per cent.

Borderline district Jashore, Rajshahi, Dinajpur, Lalmonirhat, Natore and Rangpur districts have been yellow-marked due to light to moderate risk.

On Sunday, the heath department said Covid-19 infections have increased by 115% in the last one week.

As many as 2 thousand 458 cases were reported on Tuesday.
