A Dhaka University (DU) student named Sumon Hossen of 2017-18 session died on Friday (July 16) from Covid-19. It is the first death of a DU student sue to coronavirus.
He was a third year student of anthropology department and also a resident of Sir A F Rahman Hall.
He was laid to rest at his village home at 11:00 am on Saturday (July 17).
Amir Hossain, father of the late Sumon Hossen, said, "Without sumon how will we survive in this world? We had hopes centering him but it ended up with his death."
DU Vice-Chancellor Dr. Akhtaruzzaman said, it is a matter of sorrow that a student of us has died by Covid-19 and it is the first covid-19 death among Dhaka University students.
