Dr Mohammed Shafi, a retired professor of Dhaka University's Fisheries department, died at a city hospital. He was 85.
Chairman of fisheries department Dr Md Monirul Islam confirmed the news.
He said the professor breathed his last at a city hospital around 1am on Tuesday after suffering from old age complications and post Covid-19 effects.
He survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter.
