A farmer, 30, was shot dead allegedly by some miscreants at Padua union in Rangunia upazila of Chattogram early Wednesday, said police.
The deceased is Md Enam, a resident of the union, reports UNB.
Locals said a group of armed miscreants entered Enam's house in Mohisha Bam area around 11pm on Tuesday. At that time, Enam left his house and took shelter in his neighbour’s house .
Later the miscreants shot him after entering his neighbour’s house, said Mahfuzur Rahman, sub-inspector (SI) of South Rangunia police station.
Police suspect that Eman might have been killed over a dispute between two rival groups, said the SI.
Efforts are on to arrest the killers, he added.
