Mexican mayor marries alligator bride

Videos and pictures of the wedding between the mayor of a small town in Mexico and an alligator are going viral on social media. It may sound unbelievable but it is true.

This is the wedding scene of the mayor of Oaxaca, a small town in Mexico. The mayor married an alligator.

International media reports that such a wedding took place in Oaxaca according to custom. The wedding was a grand affair like any other wedding.

Dressed in traditional wedding attire, the bride was escorted to the wedding venue in a procession by the community members.

The marriage ceremony is complete with the bride kissing the alligator. Since the bride is an alligator, its mouth is tied with a rope to prevent it from retaliating.

Such a marriage takes place as part of worshiping nature. A seven-year-old alligator is believed to be a representative of God.

The concept of marriage is the union between man and God.

“We asked nature for enough rain, enough food, enough fish in the river.” Sosa, the mayor of Oaxaca, said.

Reuters has also released a video of the bride dressing the alligator and the groom Mayer dancing with the alligator in his hand.
