NASA’s Artemis mission delayed again as storm churned toward launch site

Officials said on Tuesday, NASA has again rescheduled its long-delayed mission to the Moon as a Tropical Storm Nicole barrels toward launch site and the east coast of Florida.

The official launch date was scheduled for November 14, will now take place on November 16, Jim Free, a senior official at the U.S. space agency, posted on Twitter.

It is the third time delay of the highly anticipated launch.

According to the latest reports provided by The National Hurricane that these’s a 15% chance that Cocoa Beach, which lies about 20 miles (32 kilometers) south of the launch site, will endure sustained hurricane-force winds.

NASA Officials, however, said in a statement “forecasts predict the greatest risks at the pad are high winds that are not expected to exceed the SLS design.”

“The rocket is designed to withstand heavy rains at the launch pad and the spacecraft hatches have been secured to prevent water intrusion,” the statement continues.
