The 12th National Undergraduate Mathematics Olympiad was held at Dhaka University (DU) on Friday. A number of 80 students of different institutions across the country take part in the competition.
Dhaka University’s Applied Mathematics Department, Bangladesh Mathematics Society and F R Mujibur Rahman Foundation jointly arranged the programme.
Dhaka University Vice-chancellor Dr Akhtaruzzaman were present as the chief guest while pro-VC Professor Dr. A. S. M. Maksud Kamal and treasurer Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed were made special guest at the prize giving ceremony.
DU VC said in his welcoming speech said that National Undergraduate Olympiad will play a vital role in allaying the fear of mathematics among the students.
