The biopic of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, “Bangabandhu” began in Mumbai on Thursday, January 21, 2020. Eminent filmmaker Shyam Benegal is directing the biopic, and Arifin Shuvoo plays the role of Bangabandhu.
The film commemorates the birth centenary of our Father of the Nation and is being jointly produced by Bangladesh and India.
Sheikh Fazilatunnesa will be played by Nusrat Imrose Tisha, and Nusraat Faria will play the role of Bangabandhu's daughter Sheikh Hasina.
Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC), India and Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (NFDC), Bangladesh was signed on January 14, 2020.
The film’s shooting was disrupted due to the pandemic.
Shooting will take place in Film City, Mumbai for the first 100 days and later in Bangladesh.
