Popular Bangladeshi media content production company CMV has taken down a recently released Eid drama from their official YouTube channel. The CMV produced drama, titled ‘Ghotona Shotto,’ sparked an online controversy as it had some inaccurate information about differently-abled children.
The drama’s director Rubel Hasan, lead cast Afran Nisho, Mehzabien Chowdhury and CMV founder SK Shahed Ali Pappu have already released a joint apology statement on July 25.
The press release stated that CMV deeply apologises for any misinformation that the audience has pointed out. They also agreed that the facts the audience pointed was accurate and they have removed it from their YouTube channel as soon as they could.
The Eid special drama released on July 24 sparked outrage online as its screenplay contained derogatory and false information about differently-abled children.
Creators of the Eid drama have also said in the press statement that they will re-release the drama after necessary edits and corrections are made.
