Stranded DU students return to campus

21 students of Dhaka University (DU) who were stranded in the flood after visiting Sunamganj have returned to the campus.

They were taken to the TSC around 12:30 am on Sunday under the supervision of three Army members.

Among them, 19 are students of the 2018-19 session of the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism of the University, the other two are students of other departments.

Shoaib Ahmed, a student of the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism, confirmed the matter to media.

"We've finally arrived on campus. With the cooperation of all, we have been saved from dangers. We are all physically and mentally sound. We are grateful to everyone including the university administration, police, army, journalists,” he said.

Earlier, on June 14, they visited Sunamganj. When the flood situation worsened there on 16 June, they reached Pansi Restaurant in the city from Shimul Bagan. After rescuing them, the Sunamganj district administration sent hundreds of students from different universities to Sylhet in a boat named 'Kopotakkho-Anirban Tourist Boat' on June 17 at noon.
