Having battled for 96 deliveries for his 26, he threw his wicket away trying to hit Warrican out.

Shanto and Islam had dug in after the early strike to rebuild the innings. They managed to make a stand of 112 balls for their stand of 43 to keep the West Indies pacers and Rahkeem Cornwall away. However, a lucky break came for the visitors when a communication breakdown led to a silly run out.

Shakib and Liton Das refused to succumb under pressure.  Both batsmen managed to score boundaries at will. Warrican was struck for two boundaries in the 81st and the duo hit five more boundaries in the next six overs. They extended their partnership to an unbeaten 49 and will pose a major challenge to the visitors on the second day.
