Woman in Kushtia gives birth to five at once without operation

For the first time, a woman has given birth to five children without surgery. However, one of these newborns died. On Tuesday (November 2), the average weight of four girls and one boy born at Kushtia General Hospital's gynecology ward was 600 grams.

Now four newborns have been placed in the intensive care unit (ICU). Physicians are monitoring their physical condition.

The mother of the newborns Sadia Khatun is the wife of Sohel Rana of College para area of ​​Panti village in Kumarkhali upazila of Kushtia.

Kushtia General Hospital Assistant Director. Nasir Uddin told the media, 'A woman named Sadia gave birth to five children at the hospital around 10 am on Tuesday. She was admitted to the hospital at around 10 pm on Monday.

All five children are born premature. One of them has already died. There are some complications and risks involved, so we have kept them under observation, said the hospital official.

We have advised the parents to take them to children's department of Dhaka Medical College for better treatment as they are premature and thus underweight, he added.
