In a shocking turn of events, four people have been confirmed dead after a violent clash at the Tabligh Jamaat Ijtema ground in Gazipur.

The Home Advisor, Lieutenant General (Ret.) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, made it clear that anyone involved in these killings will face the full force of the law. There will be no leniency, he added.

The incident took place at the Ijtema ground in Tongi, where tensions between the two factions of Tabligh Jamaat—one led by Maulana Jubayer and the other by Maulana Sadeq Kandhalvi—erupted into violence.

According to police and hospital sources, three people were initially reported dead.

However, Maulana Mohammad Mamunul Haque, the Secretary-General of Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis, clarified that four people were killed and that the attack was carried out by Sadeq‍‍`s followers, not simply a clash.

"These aren‍‍`t just deaths from a conflict. Sadeq‍‍`s group carried out a deadly attack, and four people lost their lives," said Maulana Haque. The Home Advisor also confirmed that four people had been killed.

In response to the situation, the Home Advisor met with both sides at the Ministry of Home Affairs on Wednesday, December 18.

After the discussions, he assured the public that those responsible for the killings would be brought to justice. "We will make sure the law takes its course," he said.

When asked about the participation of Sadeq‍‍`s followers in the World Ijtema, the Home Advisor said that if both groups could reach an agreement through dialogue, Sadeq‍‍`s group would be allowed to join.

He also reassured that the government had not canceled the date for the Ijtema and encouraged the two factions to find a peaceful solution through talks.

The situation has drawn widespread attention, and many are left wondering how the conflict, which was once seen as a distant issue, has now reached the doorstep of the capital.
