Law enforcement agencies have cordoned off a house suspected to have bomb-making equipment during a routine raid in Jagannathpur upazila of Sunamganj.
Police sieged the house in Dighalbak village of Asharkandi union from 10:00 am on Sunday. A bomb disposal unit and an army team are at the scene.
Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) of Sunamganj Ripon Kumar Modak said, “Police went to that house in the morning in search of accused under arrest warrant. At that time, a young man ran away from that house. After searching the house, mobile, laptop, radio, speakers and other equipment were found in a room. Later, the house was cordoned off as it is suspected.”
He also said, “Our bomb disposal unit is working here along with the police. In the morning, when army was informed about the matter, a team of them also came here.”
