In a complaint filed for assaulting police, a Dhaka court on Wednesday ordered Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie, the BNP`s publicity secretary, to be placed on remand for four days.
According to a police official of the court, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Rashidul Alam issued the decision after Annie produced before the court by Dhanmondi police with a request for a seven-day remand.
The BNP leader was arrested by police on early Wednesday in connection with a case filed with Dhanmondi Police Station.
