The government has assigned LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir the responsibility of handling parliamentary affairs in the absence of the prime minister.
The decision was announced in a gazette notification issued by the Cabinet Division on Tuesday.
According to the notification, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will carry out the responsibilities of the Prime Minister’s Office in the 13th National Parliament.
However, in his absence, the duties related to parliamentary affairs will be performed by Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
The notification, signed by Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Gani, said the order takes effect immediately.
