Four more people died of dengue in the past 24 hours, while 1,163 new cases were reported during the same period—the highest number of daily infections recorded so far this year.
The information was released in a dengue-related bulletin issued Monday by the Health Emergency Operations Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
According to DGHS data, the latest four deaths have brought the country’s dengue death toll this year to 97 as of Monday. The total number of reported infections has reached 35,846.
On Sunday (August 30), three people died from dengue, while 1,097 new cases were reported that day.
