A fire at a scrap warehouse in Gazipur’s Konabari area was brought under control Thursday morning after firefighters worked for about three hours to contain the blaze.
The fire broke out at a jhut warehouse in Deuliabari around 6:00am and was brought under control at about 9:00am.
Five firefighting units, including teams from the Konabari Fire Station, responded to the incident, said Saidul Alam Chowdhury, deputy assistant director of the Gazipur Fire Service.
A large quantity of scrap materials was destroyed in the fire.
The cause of the blaze has not yet been determined, Chowdhury said.
