Five more children died with measles-like symptoms in the past 24 hours. During the same period, 1,170 people were diagnosed with measles and measles-like symptoms.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the figures in its latest measles update on Friday.
According to the report, five more children died with measles-like symptoms in the past 24 hours. Of those admitted to hospitals during the period, 1,100 showed measles-like symptoms, while 70 were confirmed to have measles.
With the latest deaths, the total number of people who have died with measles or measles-like symptoms across the country since March 15 has risen to 960.
Meanwhile, the number of confirmed measles cases has reached 18,796 since March 15, while 154,792 people have shown measles-like symptoms.
According to DGHS data, a total of 135,470 people have so far been admitted to hospitals with measles-like symptoms. Of them, 130,475 have already been discharged and returned home.
