Nila Israfil, a central committee member of the National Citizen Party (NCP), has announced her resignation from the party.
In a Facebook post published on Monday afternoon (July 28), Nila stated, “I choose morality, not criminal politics.”
She alleged that the NCP is a party where offenders are not held accountable, and even after a woman is harassed, the party remains silent in support of the perpetrator. “I cannot stay a moment longer in such a place,” she wrote.
Nila further claimed that the person responsible for humiliating, harassing, and attempting to socially destroy her has faced no disciplinary action. Instead, she said, “he roams proudly under the party’s protection.” According to her, such a party no longer represents any ideology or sense of justice.
Declaring her resignation, she wrote: “From today, from this moment, I sever all ties with the NCP. I reject this party. I stand for justice, against injustice. Uncompromising protest is my weapon. Even if I walk alone on the path of truth and dignity, I will not back down.”
No immediate comment was available from NCP central leadership regarding her resignation.
