Fire broke at seven-storied slum in Mohakhali

A fire broke out in the seven-storied slum of Mohakhali in the capital around 7:30 am on Monday (March,27). 9 units of fire service brought the fire under control after trying for about two hours.

Assistant Director of Fire Service, Aktaruzzaman confirmed the matter and said that the fire was brought under control around 8:30 am. Now the rescue work is going on.

Rafi Al Farooq, the duty officer of the fire service control room, said that the fire broke out around 7:30 in the morning. On receiving the information, several units of the fire service reached the spot and started working to control the fire.

Initially, the cause of the fire and the extent of the damage were not known. No casualty has been reported so far.

Meanwhile, on Sunday (March, 26) at around 3:20 pm, a fire broke out in the sweeper colony of Jayakali Mandir in the capital's Kaptanbazar. At least four people were burnt in this incident. They were rescued and admitted to the Sheikh Hasina National Burn Institute.
