The final voter list for the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) and hall union elections has been published, with 157 names removed from the draft list.
According to a press release issued by the Dhaka University (DU) administration on Monday night, the final list includes a total of 39,775 voters—20,871 male students and 18,902 female students.
The exclusions were made after resolving objections to the draft list based on the recommendations of the review committee and with the Vice-Chancellor’s approval.
The final voter list is available on all hall notice boards and at ducsu.du.ac.bd.
Voter Breakdown by Hall
Among female students, Rokeya Hall has 5,641 voters, Shamsunnahar Hall 4,084, Bangladesh Kuwait Maitree Hall 2,103, Poet Sufia Kamal Hall 4,434, and Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Hall 2,640.
Among male students, Amar Ekushey Hall has 1,295 voters, Poet Jasimuddin Hall 1,303, Jagannath Hall 2,222, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall 1,606, Dr Muhammad Shahidullah Hall 1,998, Fazlul Huq Muslim Hall 1,762, Bijoy Ekattor Hall 2,027, Muktijoddha Ziaur Rahman Hall 1,749, Shaheed Sergeant Zahurul Haque Hall 1,957, Salimullah Muslim Hall 664, Surya Sen Hall 1,499, Sir A. F. Rahman Hall 1,377, and Haji Muhammad Mohsin Hall 1,402.
The draft voter list, published on July 30, had a total of 39,932 names. The Election Commission stated that even after the publication of the final list, if any expelled or accused student’s name is found, it will be removed upon receiving proper evidence.
Nomination Form Collection Begins
Nomination form distribution for the 2025 DUCSU and hall elections began today (Tuesday). Each form costs Tk 300. Interested candidates can collect the forms between August 12 and 18 from 10 am to 4 pm. The submission deadline is August 19 at 3 pm.
Candidates must collect and submit DUCSU nomination forms in person at the Chief Returning Officer’s office on the third floor of the Nawab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Building. Hall union nomination forms must be collected and submitted in person to the respective hall returning officers.
As per the DUCSU and Hall Election Code of Conduct 2025, no processions or rallies are allowed during nomination collection or submission, and candidates may be accompanied by no more than five supporters.
The DUCSU and hall elections are scheduled for September 9, 2025. The last DUCSU election was held in 2019 after a 28-year hiatus.
