Nodes Digital Limited, an innovative agri-tech startup from Bangladesh, has been awarded a €40,000 innovation grant under the Orange Corners Innovation Fund (OCIF) by the Government of the Netherlands.
The grant recognizes the company’s pioneering IoT-based soil and water monitoring technology.
The award was presented by His Excellency Mr. Andre Karstensen, Chief of Mission at the Netherlands Embassy in Dhaka.
Selected among 16 startups in the second cohort of Orange Corners Bangladesh, Nodes Digital’s smart irrigation system uses IoT sensors and AI analytics to monitor soil and weather data in real-time.
This technology reduces water usage by up to 30%, saving between 3,000 and 5,000 liters of water per kilogram of rice produced.
“We are honored to receive this recognition from the Dutch government,” said Md. Akib Hasan, co-founder of Nodes Digital. “Our goal is to deliver affordable and intelligent irrigation technology to farmers in Bangladesh. This grant will help us expand our technology and significantly contribute to increasing productivity and conserving water.”
With this funding, Nodes Digital plans to scale pilot projects, enhance AI models, and provide training on smart farming techniques, aiming to support Bangladesh’s food security and promote sustainable agriculture.
