A mild earthquake shook several parts of Bangladesh, including Chattogram, in the early hours of Tuesday. According to meteorologist Shahnaj Sultana of the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD), the 4.9-magnitude tremor was recorded at 12:55am.
She said the quake’s epicentre was located in Mingin, Myanmar—about 431 kilometres southeast of the BMD’s Seismic Centre in Agargaon.
