7 more children die with measles-like symptoms, death toll rises to 915

Seven more children died with measles-like symptoms in the past 24 hours, while 1,031 children were diagnosed with measles or measles-like symptoms during the same period. However, no death from confirmed measles was reported during this period.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the information in its latest measles update released on Monday afternoon.

According to the report, seven children died with measles-like symptoms in the past 24 hours. Since March 15, a total of 816 children have died with measles-like symptoms across the country. During the same period, another 99 were confirmed measles-related deaths. The combined death toll from confirmed measles and measles-like symptoms now stands at 915.

Meanwhile, 50 children were confirmed to have measles in the past 24 hours, while 981 patients were identified with measles-like symptoms. During the same period, 929 children were newly admitted to hospitals, while 974 were discharged after receiving treatment.

According to DGHS data, the total number of suspected measles cases in the country has reached 143,778 since March 15. During this period, 17,930 cases have been confirmed as measles.
