Six more children have died from measles-like symptoms in the past 24 hours, while 1,101 new suspected cases of measles have been detected, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The figures were released in the DGHS’s latest measles surveillance report on Sunday.
According to the report, six children died from measles-like symptoms during the 24-hour period, while 1,101 new patients were identified.
Since March 15, a total of 908 people have died from measles and measles-like symptoms across the country. Of them, 809 deaths were reported among patients with measles-like symptoms, while 99 were confirmed measles-related deaths.
DGHS data show that more than 142,000 suspected measles cases have been reported nationwide between March 15 and Sunday. Of these, nearly 18,000 patients have been confirmed to have measles.
