Five more children died with measles-like symptoms in the past 24 hour, while another 1,025 people have developed measles and measles-like symptoms during the same period.
The figures were reported in the latest measles update released by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Thursday.
According to the report, five children died with suspected measles symptoms in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths from measles and measles-like symptoms in the country to 890. Of the total, 791 deaths involved people with measles symptoms, while 99 were confirmed measles-related deaths.
Meanwhile, measles was confirmed in 74 people over the past 24 hours, while another 951 people developed measles-like symptoms during the same period.
According to DGHS data, the total number of suspected measles cases in Bangladesh has reached 140,076 since March 15. During the same period, measles has been confirmed in 17,543 people.
