Two brothers were killed by a lightning strike while working in a paddy field near their home in Morrelganj of Bagerhat on Wednesday morning.
The deceased were identified as Bidhan Bachar, 54, and his younger brother Manik Bachar, 39, sons of Monoranjan Bachar of Shoulkhali village.
The brothers were working in the field during rain when lightning struck them at around 11:30am, said Md Shahidullah, officer-in-charge of Morrelganj Police Station.
They died on the spot, according to local residents.
Police were informed of the incident and later went to the field to recover the bodies.
