Government employees may not have to wait much longer for a new pay scale, as the proposed salary structure has reached the final stage of consideration, Prime Minister’s Principal Secretary ABM Abdus Sattar said on Sunday.
“The pay scale is under consideration and the government is committed to implementing it. It is at the final stage. The pay scale may be announced at any moment,” he told reporters at the Secretariat.
Sattar also acknowledged some disruptions in the market and said the government was working to address the problems.
“There are some problems in the market, and we are trying to resolve them,” he said in response to a question.
He said the production chain had been affected to some extent, possibly because of problems related to fuel and electricity.
“It will be resolved,” Sattar said.
