Four more children died with measles-like symptoms in the past 24 hours, while another 1,159 children were newly diagnosed with measles during the same period.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the figures in its latest measles situation report released Friday afternoon.
According to the DGHS, all four children who died in the past 24 hours were suspected measles cases. Of the 1,159 children diagnosed with measles during the same period, 187 were confirmed cases, while 972 were suspected cases.
Meanwhile, a total of 894 children have died of measles across the country since March 15. Of them, 795 deaths were suspected measles cases, while 99 were confirmed.
According to DGHS data, 141,048 people have been identified as suspected measles cases nationwide since March 15. Of these, 17,730 have been confirmed to have measles.
During the same period, 122,794 patients have been admitted to hospitals, of whom 118,540 have been discharged after receiving treatment.
