President Mirza Fakhrul begins official duties at Bangabhaban

Newly elected President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has begun his official duties at Bangabhaban for the first time since taking the oath of office.

He arrived at Bangabhaban around 11:00am on Sunday, where a ceremonial mounted police unit welcomed him at Gate No. 2.

Later, a smartly turned-out contingent of the Bangladesh Army’s President Guard Regiment (PGR) accorded him a guard of honour at the Credential Field.

After the ceremony, the president and his family members were welcomed with flowers at the Octagonal by his Military Secretary Major General A.S.M. Bahauddin, Secretary of the Public Division A.J.M. Salahuddin Nagari, Press Secretary Sarwar Alam, and PGR Commander Brigadier General Golam Arikul Alam.

On his first day of official duties at Bangabhaban, President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir remained in his office and signed various government documents. He later signed the visitors’ book at Bangabhaban.
