Govt appoints Ashik Chowdhury as Invest Bangladesh chairman

The government has appointed Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun as the chairman of the Invest Bangladesh Authority on a contractual basis for one year.

The appointment was announced in a notification issued by the Contract and Foreign Recruitment Wing of the Ministry of Public Administration on Friday (August 21).

According to the notification, Ashik has been appointed as chairman of the Invest Bangladesh Authority, under the Prime Minister’s Office, for one year from the date he assumes office, in accordance with Section 8(5) of the Invest Bangladesh Act, 2023.

As a condition of his appointment, he must relinquish any other profession, business, or employment with any government, semi-government, or private organization.

The notification said the other terms and conditions of his appointment would be determined through a contract. It also stated that the order was issued in the public interest.

Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration Md Golam Rabbani signed the notification on behalf of the President.
