CA condoles casualties in Thailand floods

Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has expressed deep condolences to Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul over the loss of lives and widespread destruction caused by recent floods in the southern part of Thailand.

"I have learnt with grave concern about the recent floods in the Southern part of Thailand, which have taken so many precious lives and caused widespread destruction," he wrote to the Thai Prime Minister in a message on Sunday.

The Chief Adviser‍‍`s Press Wing released the message today.

In the message, the Chief Adviser said, "On behalf of the Government and people of Bangladesh, and on my own behalf, I extend our deepest condolences to the bereaved families who lost their loved ones and have suffered injuries and displacement."

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the Government and the friendly people of Thailand during this trying time," Prof Yunus added.

He further stated, "I am confident that, under your leadership, the Thai people will be able to recover from the grief and damages soon. Bangladesh stands ready to extend all possible support and assistance for a speedy recovery."

"Please accept, Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration," the Chief Adviser concluded.
