Trading at both the Dhaka and Chattogram stock exchanges began on a positive note on Monday, with key indices and most company shares showing gains in the first hour.
At the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the benchmark DSEX rose by 51 points, the Shariah index DSES gained 11 points, and the blue-chip DS30 index increased by 12 points. Among the listed companies, 324 shares advanced, 23 declined, and 40 remained unchanged. The turnover at DSE crossed Tk 162 crore during the first half of the session.
Meanwhile, the Chattogram Stock Exchange (CSE) also opened higher, with its broad index up by 22 points. Of the traded issues, 39 gained, 22 declined, and 9 remained unchanged, with the turnover reaching Tk 3.70 crore in the first half.
Investors appeared optimistic as the week began, reflected in the early gains at both bourses.
