Health officials today reported 610 new dengue cases along with two deaths in the past 24 hours.
"We recorded deaths of two dengue patients in 24 hours ending at 8 am today," said a spokesman of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), adding that 610 fresh dengue cases were documented during the same period.
DGHS statistics show that both fatalities occurred under the jurisdiction of the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).
According to the DGHS statement:
- Barishal division: 52
- Chattogram division: 122
- Dhaka division (excluding the capital): 81
- Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC): 102
- Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC): 171
- Khulna division: 31
- Mymensingh division: 26
- Rajshahi division: 17
- Rangpur division: 2
- Sylhet division: 6
So far this year, 384 people have died from dengue, while the total number of infected patients has reached 95,012.
Last year, dengue claimed 575 lives and infected 1,01,214 people across Bangladesh.
