Police arrest BNP leader Annie

Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie, the BNP‍‍`s publicity secretary, was arrested by police on early Wednesday from his Dhanmondi home in Dhaka.

Confirming the matter Parvez Islam, the officer in charge of the Dhanmondi Police Station, said that Annie has been sent to court. 

According to the OC, Annie was arrested as a result of two warrants in Lakshmipur and a complaint against with the Dhanmondi Police Station.

Zahir Uddin Swapan, chief coordinator of the BNP‍‍`s media cell said the law enforcement officials asked Annie to accompany them to the police station when they arrived at Annie‍‍`s residence at 2:00 a.m.
