2 more die of dengue; 386 hospitalized in 24 hours

A total of 386 new dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country in the past 24 hours, while two more deaths were reported during this period.

According to the Health Emergency Operations Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), this brings the total dengue death toll in 2025 to 81, with 20,702 people hospitalized so far this year.

The DGHS reported on Wednesday (July 30) that 10,406 patients have been admitted with dengue infections in July alone, with 39 deaths recorded this month.

Currently, 1,289 dengue patients are receiving treatment at various public and private hospitals nationwide. Of them, 348 are admitted in Dhaka, while the remaining 941 are hospitalized in other divisions outside the capital.

Data from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) further reveals the monthly hospital admissions due to dengue since the beginning of the year.

In January, 1,161 patients were admitted, with 10 recorded deaths. February saw 374 admissions and 3 deaths, while March had 336 patients admitted with no reported fatalities.

In April, 701 patients were hospitalized and 7 deaths occurred. May experienced 1,773 admissions alongside 3 deaths, and June saw a significant rise with 5,951 patients admitted and 19 deaths reported.

No deaths were reported in March.
