Three more children died with measles-like symptoms in the past 24 hours, while another 940 children were hospitalized with measles or measles-like symptoms during the same period.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the figures in its latest measles update released on Friday.
According to the report, although three children died with measles-like symptoms in the past 24 hours, no child died from confirmed measles during the period.
Since March 15, a total of 829 children have died nationwide with measles-like symptoms. Another 99 children have died from confirmed measles. The combined death toll from measles and measles-like symptoms during the period now stands at 928.
Meanwhile, 940 new patients were admitted to hospitals with measles or measles-like symptoms in the past 24 hours. Confirmed measles was detected in 64 of them, while the remaining 876 had measles-like symptoms.
According to DGHS data, the total number of suspected measles cases in the country has reached 147,591 since March 15. During the same period, confirmed measles was detected in 18,208 patients.
