Four more to join cabinet, take oath tonight

Four new members are set to join the cabinet led by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman. Newly elected President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will administer their oaths at the Darbar Hall of Bangabhaban on Friday night.

The four incoming cabinet members are BNP Standing Committee member Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan; Bangladesh Jatiya Party Chairman Barrister Andaleeve Rahman Partha; Sa Ching Prue Jerry, an MP elected from Bandarban; and Mohammad Shamim Kaiser Lincoln, an MP from Gaibandha-4.

Sources at the Cabinet Division said further changes could be made to the cabinet in addition to the appointment of the four new members. Possible changes are being considered in the ministries of civil aviation and tourism, agriculture, food, power and energy, local government, and information and broadcasting.

Meanwhile, President’s Press Secretary Md Sarwar Alam said the Darbar Hall at Bangabhaban was ready for the swearing-in ceremony. He said the Cabinet Division is overseeing the ceremony.
