Three more children died with measles-like symptoms in the past 24 hours, while 1,072 people were diagnosed with measles or reported measles-like symptoms during the same period.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the information in its latest measles update released Thursday afternoon.
According to the report, although three children died with measles symptoms in the past 24 hours, no child died from confirmed measles during the period.
Since March 15, a total of 826 children have died nationwide with measles symptoms. Another 99 children have died after being confirmed to have measles. The combined death toll from measles and measles-like symptoms during the period now stands at 925.
Meanwhile, 68 children were confirmed to have measles in the past 24 hours, while another 1,004 developed measles-like symptoms. During the same period, 950 children were newly admitted to hospitals, while 879 were discharged after treatment.
According to DGHS data, the total number of suspected measles cases in the country has reached 146,715 since March 15. Of them, 18,144 have been confirmed to have measles.
During the period, a total of 128,026 patients were admitted to hospitals, of whom 123,684 were discharged after receiving treatment.
