Three more children died with measles-like symptoms in the past 24 hours, while 1,061 new cases of measles or measles-like symptoms have been reported during the same period.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) reported the figures in its latest measles update released Tuesday afternoon.
According to the report, although three children died with measles-like symptoms in the past 24 hours, no child was confirmed to have died from measles during that period.
Since March 15, a total of 819 children have died across the country with measles-like symptoms. Another 99 children have died after being confirmed with measles. In total, 918 children have died from measles or measles-like symptoms during the period.
Meanwhile, 59 children were confirmed to have measles in the past 24 hours, while another 1,002 developed measles-like symptoms. During the same period, 903 children were admitted to hospitals, while 967 were discharged after receiving treatment.
According to DGHS data, the total number of suspected measles cases in Bangladesh has reached 144,780 since March 15. Of these, 17,989 have been confirmed as measles cases.
During this period, a total of 126,289 patients were admitted to hospitals, of whom 121,880 have been discharged after treatment.
